GAIA is preparing its final stakeholder-facing activities as part of the last implementation cycle of the Farmtopia pilot.
The Open Day will present the work carried out at the GGS almond plantation in Salamanca, where GAIA has been deployed and demonstrated as an agricultural digital solution for field monitoring and irrigation-oriented decision support.
The activity will focus on the practical lessons learned during the pilot. Participants will be introduced to the GAIA workflow, including the use of farm sensors, weather data, Earth Observation layers, AI-based recommendations, geospatial visualisation and the digital twin interface. The objective is to show how these elements can be combined into a practical tool that supports better-informed farm decisions.
The Open Day will also address the role of the farmer in the co-creation process. During the project, feedback from the GGS pilot helped refine the dashboard, the field-monitoring view, the recommendation workflow and the need for clear explanation of AI outputs.
The event is intended for farmers, advisors, cooperatives, AKIS actors, agritech stakeholders and other organisations interested in digital agriculture and sustainable field management. It will also contribute to the final assessment of GAIA’s replication potential in comparable farms and regions.
